Sydney is a dedicated instructor with a deep understanding of physical pain, trauma, and the desire to be active. She began her Pilates journey in the early 2000s while recovering from radiation therapy and has since used Pilates for rehabilitation after various injuries.
With two decades of experience and a passion for body movement and mental performance. Sydney has dedicated her time to be educated in as many movement practices and psychological factors to allow for a true immersive understanding of her clients' needs.
She is a comprehensive Stott Pilates instructor and trained in Balanced Body Pilates. She has furthered her education in Barre, Pilates for scoliosis, Pilates for Breast Cancer, Zenga flow Pilates, Chronic Pain Yoga, Cardio tramp for Pilates, and is a certified 500 RYT yoga instructor.
Sydney trained under master instructor Jaqueline Martin, a student of Jay Grimes, who studied with Joseph Pilates. She is committed to ongoing education, currently expanding her knowledge with the MELT method, CoreAlign and neuro movement.
In her role at the Vancouver Island Health Authority, Sydney focuses on mental health and substance use, striving to reduce stigma and empower individuals and their loved ones. Outside of her work, she enjoys time on her farm, gardening, dancing, and caring for her animals.
